Medior QA Tester

About the position

Join a Slovak company with international projects and a number of recognized certifications. You will be testing systems used for the management, planning, and coordination of air traffic operations – software that is actually used for recording and evaluating operational flight data and in aviation accident investigations. This is an environment where quality is not a "nice to have," but a requirement.

We are looking for a medior-level QA engineer who can handle a combination of manual and automated testing. You won't just be executing test cases – you will take part in designing the test strategy, creating and maintaining automated tests, and deploying them in production environments. You will work in a team led by an experienced test lead who will give you room to grow as well as room to make decisions.

What you will do

• Design and prepare test scenarios, test plans, and project plans
• Perform functional, regression, and integration testing of web applications (frontend and backend)
• Write, extend, and maintain automated tests – including their deployment and execution in production environments
• Test APIs and the processing of operational data
• Report and manage defects, and cooperate with developers on resolving them
• Gradually take over responsibility for the automation part of testing on the project

Who we are looking for

Must have:

• Hands-on experience with testing web applications (frontend or backend) – ideally 3+ years
• Basic knowledge of REST API interfaces
• Scripting experience – Bash, Python, Perl, JavaScript, or PHP
• Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows OS
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JS
• Experience with creating test plans and project plans
• English at min. B1 – B2 level

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of automation tools – jMeter, Selenium (or Playwright, pytest, Robot Framework)
• Experience with web services in WIN/LINUX environments – IIS, Apache, Node.js
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Experience with MSSQL, SQLite
• Experience from a regulated or safety-critical environment (aviation, transportation, healthcare, defense)
• ISTQB certification
