Privacy Policy
This statement describes how DevelGuru, s.r.o. (hereinafter “DevelGuru”, “we”, or “Controller”) processes the personal data of visitors to this website, candidates, clients, and other individuals we interact with. Processing is carried out in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (hereinafter “GDPR”) and Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on the Protection of Personal Data.

2. What data we process
Depending on how you interact with us, we may process:
- Identification and contact data — name, surname, email, phone number, and optionally company name and job title.
- Candidate data — CV, cover letter, LinkedIn profile, work experience, education, language skills, technical skills, salary expectations, interview notes, and assessments.
- Client and business partner data — contact details of client-side individuals, data required for invoicing (company registration number, tax ID, VAT number, registered address).
- Communication data — content of emails, LinkedIn messages, notes from calls and meetings.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, language, visit time, pages viewed, and cookie data (see our Cookies page for details).
3. Purposes and legal bases of processing
We process personal data for the following purposes:
- Handling enquiries, offers, or questions submitted via the contact form or email — legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual and contractual relations).
- Facilitating job opportunities for candidates (recruiting, headhunting, body shopping) — legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual relationship) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in efficiently matching candidates and clients).
- Providing services to clients (recruitment outsourcing, AI hiring, IT contracting) — legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).
- Accounting, invoicing, and fulfilment of legal obligations — legal basis: Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (legal obligation).
- Marketing and sending newsletters — legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent, which you may withdraw at any time).
- Website security, fraud prevention, and traffic analytics — legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest).
4. How long we retain data
- Candidate data is retained for the duration of an active selection process and thereafter for 2 years from the last contact, so we may reach out with suitable opportunities. After this period, data is deleted or anonymised unless you have given us consent for further processing.
- Client and business partner data is retained for the duration of the contractual relationship and thereafter for 10 years to the extent required by accounting and tax regulations.
- Contact form and email data is retained for as long as necessary to handle the request, and for a maximum of 3 years.
- Marketing data is processed until consent is withdrawn, for a maximum of 5 years.

5. Who we share data with
We may share your data with the following categories of recipients:
- DevelGuru clients — if you are a candidate, your data will be disclosed to a client only with your knowledge and to the extent necessary for the selection process.
- Processors — providers of IT services, hosting, email, CRM, ATS, analytics tools, and office software that process data on our behalf under a contract pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR (e.g. Atlassian Jira, Google Workspace, LinkedIn, Cloudflare).
- Accounting, tax, and legal advisers to the extent necessary for them to perform their tasks.
- Public authorities where required by law (e.g. tax authorities, police, courts).
6. Transfers of data outside the EU
Some of our Processors (e.g. Google, LinkedIn, Cloudflare) may process data on servers in third countries. In such cases, the transfer is safeguarded by standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or under the EU‑U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
7. Your rights
As a data subject, you have the following rights under the GDPR:
- the right of access to your personal data (Art. 15);
- the right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data (Art. 16);
- the right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”, Art. 17);
- the right to restriction of processing (Art. 18);
- the right to data portability (Art. 20);
- the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest or for marketing purposes (Art. 21);
- the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal;
- the right to lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic, Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava 27, dataprotection.gov.sk.
8. Automated decision-making and profiling
When searching for and evaluating candidates, we may use AI tools (e.g. for preliminary matching of CVs to positions). These tools serve as support and the final decision on progression in any process is always made by a human. We do not base decisions solely on automated processing within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
