Senior / Staff Fullstack (PHP+JS) - Fast Response Engineer

About the role

We're looking for a senior full stack engineer to join the Fast Response team, which handles the highest-priority technical needs across the entire portfolio of products and brands — from critical bugs and urgent incidents to systemic operational improvements.

You won't just be "closing tickets" — you'll be:

• making decisions on technical solutions,
• influencing architecture, standards and the way the team works,
• improving systems and processes, not just fixing symptoms,
• mentoring more junior colleagues (alongside your own hands-on coding).

The work is full stack — PHP backend (Laravel / Symfony) combined with a modern JS/TS frontend.

• You'll be part of the transition to a multi-tenant architecture and modern engineering practices

What you'll do

• Resolving critical and urgent technical issues across the whole product portfolio
• Bug fixing and root-cause analysis in high-traffic production systems
• Systemic operational improvements — reliability, performance, uptime, response times
• Full stack development: PHP (Laravel / Symfony) + JavaScript / TypeScript frontend
• Working with legacy systems and multiple repositories, including their gradual modernisation
• Performance and Core Web Vitals optimisation on consumer-facing products
• Developing CI/CD, monitoring and observability
• Third-party and vendor integrations
• Technical decision-making, setting standards and code review
• Mentoring and supporting more junior team members

Tech stack

Backend: PHP, Laravel / Symfony

Frontend: JavaScript, TypeScript, React / Vue / Nuxt / Next.js

UI: HTML, CSS, SCSS (Tailwind, Twig)

Infra & operations: CI/CD, observability, monitoring

Environment: multi-repo, legacy systems, moving towards multi-tenant architecture

CMS / tools: Contentful

Requirements

• Demonstrable senior level — measured by technical decision-making, project complexity and hands-on ability, not years of experience
• Strong experience with PHP backend (Laravel / Symfony or a similar framework)
• Solid frontend skills in JavaScript / TypeScript and a modern framework (React / Vue / Nuxt / Next.js)
• Experience with production systems — debugging, root-cause analysis, incident resolution
• Ability to independently find your way around legacy code and multiple repositories
• Good grasp of CI/CD, monitoring and observability
• Independence, ownership and the ability to make decisions in a high-priority environment
• Strong communication skills and English (international team)

• Experience from an iGaming / sports betting environment
