Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to take ownership of a key engineering pillar within the company. You will lead a primarily backend-focused team, drive the delivery of new product functionalities, and collaborate with stakeholders and managers from multiple departments.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support a backend-oriented engineering team (including performance reviews and individual development plans).
- Oversee the implementation of new features and technical solutions.
- Work closely with product managers, data teams, marketing, and cross-functional leadership.
- Help build and manage technical roadmaps, priorities, and engineering processes.
- Provide occasional hands-on contribution (technical guidance, code reviews, architectural discussions).
- Manage sprint planning, team capacity, and workflow using Jira.
- Ensure high standards of code quality and overall system architecture.
Requirements
- Proven experience in engineering or technical team leadership.
- Strong hands-on background in software development
- Ability to take ownership of complex systems and drive technical decision-making.
- Experience with agile development practices (SCRUM is a plus).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Languages: English and Slovak.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with modern backend technologies.
- Experience working with high-traffic systems or large-scale platforms.
- Background in affiliate, marketing tech, or similar domains.
- Experience in scaling products or managing teams in a fast-growing environment.
