Project Overview
This role is focused on building and evolving shared backend capabilities used across multiple products. The team operates in the commercial area, steering core platform services that have a direct impact on revenue generation and product scalability.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services used across multiple products
- Develop API-first solutions using modern design principles
- Work primarily with TypeScript and Node.js while understanding legacy systems in PHP and Go
- Collaborate closely with other backend engineers (team of 6–8, mostly backend-focused) and a Senior Engineering Manager
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making at a staff level
- Contribute to long-term technical strategy and backend best practices across the organisation
Key Requirements
- Extensive experience as a senior/staff-level backend engineer
- Strong knowledge of TypeScript and Node.js
- Experience with API-first design and modern backend architecture patterns
- Ability to understand and work with legacy codebases (PHP, Go)
- Comfortable working in a hybrid setup (3–4 days onsite in Bratislava)
- Excellent English and Slovak communication skills

- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
